2009 - 2004 SCHOLAR LYCHOU KOUAI FUNDRAISING FOR
HABITAL FOR HUMANITY GLOBAL VILLAGE CHALLENGE

I am one of the 2004 AAWC scholarship recipent
and attended Temple University's College of
Engineering.  I was able to get an
intercompany exchange and have been living in
London for a year now.  The company I am
working for is a construction cost management
company called Currie & Brown, ltd.

The purpose of this email is to ask if Asian
American Women's Coalition will support me in
my Habitat for Humanity Global Village
Challenge.  From November 14th to the 27th, I
will be a part of a group in Bangladesh
building a house for a family.  There are
basically two parts to this challenge, the
first which is raising the fund and the second
which is taking part in building the house.

I am really excited about this opportunity and
am reaching out to AAWC once again in hopes
they will support me.  Below is a link with a
short description of this event. Thank you for
taking the time to read this email.

Sincerely,

LyChou

2004 - SUPPORT FUND FOR LIBRARY CHILD

An open forum meeting was held on Wednesday night (2/11/04) at the
Independence Branch Library to discuss the tragic incident that
occurred on Sunday in which a school age child was attacked when using the rest room.  Purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways on how to improve library security, ways on how children can improve their own personal security, and how to communicate to the Chinatown community that measures have been taken to improve the facility so that children can return to the Independence Branch Library.

Jennifer Chang, manager of the Independence Branch Library, made a
suggestion to the concerned community leaders, citizens, and
organizations about raising funds for use by the immediate family of the young Asian student that was involved in the attack.  Jennifer very much wants the young student to regain her confidence and resume coming to the library to make use of the facilities (computers, books, and reference materials).

A very special fund has been established with the cooperation of the
Asian Bank.  If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can either make a direct deposit at the Asian Bank or send your contribution to the following address:

          Asian Bank
          1008 Arch Street
          Philadelphia, PA
          19107
Reference person at the Asian Bank is Linda Ackerman.

Please indicate that the contribution should be deposited to this
account:

"ASIAN BANK - THE SUPPORT FUND".

The monies collected in this special
fund will be used exclusively by the family of the victim.

Note:  since the donations are going directly to the victim's family,
contributions are non-tax deductible.

Thank you for your generosity and kindness in support of our young
people in times of need.
